Bio
Dr. Dina Walker-DeVose is an early childhood professional with an expertise in issues related to equity and inclusion and family-school relationships. Her educational experience includes graduate and undergraduate degrees related to education, children and families. In her 25+ years of experience, Dina has served children/families in a variety of capacities including educator, administrator, family specialist, and interventionist. The bulk of her experience is in higher education where, since 1999, she has taught classes related to child development at several universities including Georgia Southern (GS) University. A core philosophy she holds is the importance of understanding the disparities experienced by children/families based on their affiliations with specific identities. This work is one of the reasons why Dina was appointed to an administrative position over issues related to inclusion for her college at GS. Dina has also been able to serve the early childhood community through her work on various committees including those affiliated with NAEYC and state-wide organizations including Babies Can’t Wait. Ultimately, it is Dina’s goal to positively impact the field of early childhood education by bringing evidence-based knowledge to the EC workforce, the larger community, and to ensure that equity and inclusion is at the center of the conversation.
